Hospitality & Tourism

Employees in the travel and tourism industry develop and promote travel packages, create guide books, plan trips and events (sometimes to including heritage areas for the enjoyment and education of visitors), work as a ski instructor or river guide, manage a customer’s travel plans or oversee a huge urban convention center. Employees must also understand what makes each operation unique. Technical skills are venue- or location- specific and training is handled on the job. Employees working in restaurants in food and beverage services perform a variety of tasks to maintain operations and promote guest services in eating and drinking establishments.
